The Honeycomb
Established in 1989, The Honeycomb is a local monthly magazine created for and by the By Brook Community. Featuring local news, features, events and activities it also provides a great opportunity for local businesses and individuals to advertise their products and services.
With 32 pages and a circulation of over 600 it is edited, managed and distributed by volunteers, and is a not for profit community organisation.

Distribution
The Honeycomb comes out on or before the first of each month and is available in village shops and some churches and pubs for 50p per copy. For an annual subscription of £6.00 you can have it delivered to your door in any of the above villages or hamlets without extra charge.
Contributing Content
Written contributions are welcome on any subject that will be of interest and that authors would like to share. Please submit these before the 12th of the month preceding the issue you would like your article to feature in.
Advertising
Advertising in The Honeycomb starts from only £6.00 per month. We feature a wealth of advertising content so please make sure to submit your copy as far in advance as possible and before the 12th of the preceeding month.
Guidelines for
Contributing Content
We love to receive interesting content to share with our readers. If you have an article you would like published, here are a few helpful pointers to make our job easier:
- Please submit using a Word document if available
- Use ‘Times New Roman’ font, size 10pt
- Maximum 850 wordcount
- Send it as an attachment to an email - not embedded
- Any accompanying photos should be good print quality, high resolution and at least 300dpi
- Attach your photos to the email rather than embed them

Information and Guidelines for Commercial Advertisers
Advertising space is limited and so early submission is highly recommended. You can pre-book and pre-pay space for a number of months, whilst retaining the freedom to change copy from issue to issue. Priority will be given to businesses based in the distribution area.
Positioning
Commercial advertisements are collected together at the back of the magazine and it is editorial policy not to embed commercial advertisements in the community text pages or on the front or back pages, nor to accept ‘advertorials’. Advertising of non-commercial village events is welcome and these are placed throughout the magazine and are generally free of charge.

Advertisements are printed in colour or black and white/grayscale in the following sizes:

Job adverts are free of charge. There are no discounts for volume or series advertising. Adverts not associated with a specific event or occasion are normally subject to a minimum of 3 months. Advertisers are limited to no more than one half page (2 x £24) in each issue.
